Schools
The Boulder Valley School District is the local school district for the city of Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Nederland, Superior, Jamestown and some schools in Broomfield. The Saint Vrain School encompasses Longmont, Niwot, Lyons, Frederick, Hygiene, Mead and Erie.
Enrollment in neighborhood schools is handled at each school. Kindergarteners and new students may register at their neighborhood school at any time. Schools are cloed from mid-June to early August. Students will not be able to register during this time. Parents are encouraged to register incoming kindergarteners by January prior to the start of school. Registration information is always available at the District offices.
If you wish to enroll your child at a school other than your neighborhood school, you must submit an open enrollment application to the Open Enrollment office during the enrollment period, which typically runs from December through January of the preceeding year.
